Chanel will be hosting their next Cruise show in Dubai. Given that the house’s Cruise and Pre-Fall shows usually take place in cities connected to Coco Chanel’s life and there is no known link between her and Dubai, it’s safe to say that appeasing the Middle Eastern market is vitally important to Chanel. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for no dubious cultural references this time.

LVMH has announced thirty semi-finalists for the LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize, worth €300,000. There are a number of recognisable names on the list including Simone Rocha, Meadham Kirchhoff, Vika Gazinskaya, Creatures of the Wind, Bruno Pieters, and Hood by Air. Moral of the story? You may be somewhat famous, show at fashion week every season and have your clothes featured in the most prestigious fashion magazines worldwide, but finances can still be a struggle.

Vivienne Westwood has designed Miss Piggy’s wedding dress in the upcoming film Muppets Most Wanted (see it here). We’re only into February and have already seen two fascinating collaborations from Ms Westwood this year: first, the ballet costumes for the Vienna Philharmonic New Year Concert, and now Miss Piggy. What is the next surprise?
