London Calling

I got accepted to London College of Fashion to study MA Fashion Journalism two weeks ago. Since then I've been experiencing a burnout further intensified by seemingly endless pages of uni work. You can always choose a few different paths in life and all of them will be relatively good, but studying fashion journalism at London College of Fashion was what I was putting the majority of my hopes in for the past year, there weren't really any other options. When I got accepted at the interview with the course director in London, I was thrilled that now I had a future and a chance to learn, improve professionally and do much more than I could ever do in Slovenia. It also meant, however, that the once vague idea that my life would change drastically one day suddenly became reality, hence the burnout. Whenever you work hard for something, regardless of whether you succeed or fail, in the end you're left with this vast nothingness. I suppose the next half a year (I move to London in September) will primarily be about adjusting.

  1. Congratulations! I understand how weird it can feel when you finally get what you've worked so hard for, only for the whole cycle to start again, but I think it's wonderful that you got in to a uni that will change your life. Scary but exciting! x

  4. First of all, congrats! And yes, the first months will be about getting used to London, to the school, to the new apartment, etc... the best period will be when the feeling "everything is new to me!" will be over and you'll feel yourself as a local!
The London College of Fashion is a great school and I'm sure it has great useful contacts with companies and, in your case, magazines and newspapers:)

  7. I'm so so so happy for you! Be sure to come with tons of money to spend (London IS as expensive as they say, much more when you have to actually live in it) and with a good attitude to hang out with me once here haha! ;D
I hope you are going to have a wonderful experience! I wish I had the guts to start studying again!

  9. Hello Sweetie, I loved your post. I just got invited for an interview in MA fashion Journalism as well and I have a few questions that I hope you can answer!

First of all, what kind of questions did you have to answer? In other words, how can I prepare? And also, I'm stuck with a certain question.. If they ask me what would I bring to the course, what am I supposed to answer? Talk about my positive aspects (for example dedication and excitement) or say something general?

Thank you for your time and I really hope you have the time to answer me!
